Jerry Bowles is co-founder of Social Media Today and was until recently its Chief Content Officer. He conceived, built and launched SMT in the spring of 2006 and it has now become one of the most popular social media sites on the web with more than 12,000 registered members, 1o-12 thousand visitors per day, and more than one million page views a month. SMT was the springboard for Social Media Today LLC, a community-building and marketing firm founded in the fall of 2006 by Bowles and Robin Carey, that builds manages community sites for several major corporations. Bowles recently sold his interest in SMT.

Bowles has more than 30 years of varied experience as a writer, editor, newsletter publisher, marketing consultant, and corporate communications director. Before the Internet came along, he has produced and wrote special supplements on new technologies for a number of magazines, including Forbes, Fortune and Newsweek. He also researched and wrote strategic white papers for major corporations and consulting firms.
He was the creator and editor of award-winning corporate magazines for KPMG (World), Ernst & Young (Viewpoint), and the American Quality Foundation (The Quality Review). He was the co-author of Beyond Quality: New Standards of Total Performance That Can Change the Future of Corporate America. (G.P. Putnam). Sequenza21, his community blog on contemporary classical music, is one of the most popular classical music sites on the web and received the Deems Taylor Internet Award from ASCAP.
